Tanning of Hides and Skins
This BREF addresses installations for the tanning of hides and skins. The types of hides and skins are restricted to those of ovine and bovine origin because the production capacities for any other type of raw material for the production of leather and furs are far below the threshold value given in the IPPC Directive (i.e. treatment capacity exceeding 12 tonnes of finished products per day).
